Coping Support for Living with a Movement Disorder

Living with a diagnosed movement disorder can bring frustration, uncertainty, or worry about everyday situations. My work here focuses on relaxation and personal coping goals. It isn't a service for diagnosing a movement disorder or changing its underlying neurological cause.

Goals we can discuss

You might want to discuss worry before a social activity, a more supportive response to frustration, or a comfortable way to pause during a demanding day. We choose the goal around your experience. We don't assume your symptoms come from a hidden emotion or can be controlled through willpower.

How sessions can fit your goals

I'll start by asking about your goals, your current care, and any communication, seating, or comfort needs. Guided attention and imagery can be adapted to what's comfortable for you. You can stay alert, speak, ask for a pause, or decline an exercise. We review the experience together rather than promising changes in movement.

Questions before you book

Can hypnosis treat Parkinson's disease, dystonia, or tremor?

No. I make no claim that this service treats disease or controls symptoms. Neurological assessment and treatment stay with your healthcare team, and coping support doesn't replace that care.

What if my symptoms are new or changing?

Please seek medical assessment. A hypnosis consultation doesn't determine the cause, urgency, or treatment of new movement symptoms.

Can the appointment be adapted?

Let me know your needs before booking, including communication, hearing, seating, fatigue, or access concerns. We can talk about the process and whether this setting suits you before you travel.

Plan your visit

Hypnosis appointments are in person at 4000 Portage Street, Suite 106, Kalamazoo, MI 49001. Allow at least two hours. Your free 30-minute consultation can be by phone or in person. We'll use the consultation to understand your goals so I can prepare a proposed plan and quote. Before you travel, a phone consultation gives us time to talk through comfort and appointment planning first.
