Weight Loss Hypnosis
Build a more comfortable relationship with food and habits that support your goals. Your sessions start with you—your routines, challenges, and what you want to change.
Together, we explore the patterns that affect your eating and well-being, including:
-
Eating on autopilot
-
Motivation for movement
-
Everyday eating routines
-
Emotional triggers
-
Stress and ways to unwind
-
Habits around food choices
-
Your wider goals and well-being

The aim is to support habits you can live with while continuing to enjoy food. A free consultation gives you space to discuss your goals, ask questions, and decide whether hypnosis is a good fit for you.

A practical approach to everyday habits
We begin by looking at your routines and the situations that make change difficult. We also explore how stress, self-talk, and emotions affect your choices, so your plan responds to your life rather than asking you to rely on willpower alone.
Hypnosis gives us a focused setting to rehearse new responses and strengthen the habits you want to build. The work centers on your relationship with food, your confidence, and choices that support your wider health goals.
Make more room for the rest of your life

We focus on sustainable habits and a kinder relationship with yourself, so food and weight don’t have to occupy so much of your attention.
A fresh approach to habits that have been hard to change.

Past attempts can teach us what helps you and what makes change harder. You don’t need to arrive with a perfect plan or a history of success.
We’ll look for manageable changes, practice new responses to familiar triggers, and review your progress together. Your goals and pace guide the work.
Progress looks different for each person. Hypnosis supports habit change; it does not guarantee a particular amount or speed of weight loss.
WHAT IS SO DIFFERENT ABOUT THIS WEIGHT LOSS PROGRAM?
Knowing what you want to do and doing it consistently can be two different things. Our work looks at both everyday habits and the emotions that make those habits difficult to change.
Sessions may focus on emotional eating, familiar triggers, or motivation for movement. We practice responses that fit your life and can complement the nutrition or medical guidance you already receive.

WHY DO I EAT, EVEN WHEN I AM NOT HUNGRY?

Eating can offer comfort, a break from stress, or a familiar routine—even when hunger is not the main reason. If that pattern no longer feels helpful, the starting point is curiosity rather than criticism. Understanding what you need in those moments helps us explore other ways to respond.
For some people, the useful change is noticing an automatic routine. For others, it is finding another source of comfort, enjoyment, or connection. You can continue to enjoy food while building a wider set of ways to care for yourself.
Together, we identify realistic alternatives, rehearse them, and review what happens between visits. Your experience helps us adjust the approach as you build new habits.
Planning your weight-management sessions
How many appointments should I plan for?
Weight support commonly involves 2–4 sessions, scheduled about a week apart. We’ll discuss a plan at your consultation and adjust it to your needs and progress. Hypnosis appointments are in person in Kalamazoo. Your free, 30-minute consultation can be by phone or in person.
What is a useful goal to bring?
Choose a situation you want to handle differently: eating while distracted, reaching for food after a stressful day, or struggling to begin an activity you enjoy. Describe what happens now and one response you would like to practice. You do not need a perfect eating plan before we can talk.
How will we review progress?
We can track changes in the routines you choose, your response to familiar triggers, and what you notice between visits. For example, you might practice pausing before an automatic snack or planning a different way to unwind. Weight changes are individual; hypnosis does not guarantee a particular amount or speed of weight loss.
Does this replace nutrition or medical care?
Sessions focus on habits, motivation, and your relationship with food. Continue the nutrition or medical care appropriate to your circumstances, and discuss treatment decisions with your healthcare provider. The NIDDK guide to changing habits for better health offers useful background on small goals, barriers, and reviewing setbacks.
How can I prepare?
Bring one recent example, what you have already tried, and the questions you want answered. If self-talk is part of the pattern, try our five-question beliefs reflection. Read what to expect at your first hypnosis appointment and check our office location before your visit.
